Professional Biography

Tom first worked at ICFAR as a co-op student, a Junior Manufacturing Technician) from Fasnhawe College in London, Ontario and upon graduation with a Manufacturing Engineering Technician Diploma and an Advanced Diploma in Manufacturing Technology (2013) he was hired back to ICFAR as a Technical Specialist (Manufacturing Technologist). Tom tells us that he enjoys any project where he can "get my hands dirty and utilize multiple technical disciplines".   

Today, Tom primarily supports the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Thermochemical Conversion of Biomass and Waste to Bioindustrial Resources, as well as related research initiatives led by Franco Berruti. Tom is involved from conception in the design, construction, testing and optimization of the innovative equipment developed as part of the Waste to Resources initiative. He also provides manufacturing and technical support to the entire research team.
