Professional Biography
Shokooh Karami is an MSc student at Western University's Institute for Chemicals and Fuels from Alternative Resource (ICFAR) and is part of the NSERC IRC in Thermochemical Conversion of Biomass and Waste to Bioindustrial Resources research team. Her project is the "Slow Pyrolysis of Vomitoxin-Contaminated Corn in a Batch Reactor". Shokooh has a BSc degree (2017) from the University of Isfahan, Isfahan, Iran. She holds various certificates including a Certificate in Polyester, Acrylic, Utility and Wastewater Treatment Units in Polyacryl. Shokooh has experience working in industry; she was a research assistant at KIA Process Design Engineers, Isfahan, Iran.
Research Interests
Shokooh Karami's research interests include the production of bio-oils, bio-char and gas from biomass, using pyrolysis. She is also interested in the application of products from thermochemical conversion processes, most specifically biochar adsorption and as a soil amendment, and various applications of bio-oil.
