Professional Biography

Dr. Kang Kang is a Postdoctoral Associate at Western University's Institute for Chemicals and Fuels from Alternative Resource (ICFAR).  He earned a Bachelor degree at The Second Artillery Engineering College, Environmental Engineering, Xi’an, China (2009), an M.Sc. at Northwest A&F University, Environmental Engineering, Yangling, China (2012) and a Ph.D., Environmental Engineering, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada (2017).  Prior to joining the NSERC IRC team at ICFAR, Dr. Kang spent three years as an Assistant Professor at Northwest A&F University in China.

 


Research Interests

Kang Kang's research focuses heavily on developing economically efficient and environmentally friendly biomass conversion technologies and biomass-based materials that could be used to promote sustainability.

Keywords: biomass gasification/pyrolysis, biomass-based solid/gaseous/liquid fuel production, heterogenous catalysis, reaction process optimization, hydrogen production.
