Professional Biography
Islam ElGhamrawy is pursuing an MESc degree under the supervision of Prof. Berruti, at the Institute for Chemicals and Fuels from Alternative Resources (ICFAR), and is part of the NSERC IRC in Thermochemical Conversion of Biomass and Waste to Bioindustrial Resources research team. Islam has a BSc in Gas and Petrochemicals Engineering from Alexandria University, Egypt (2011). Previously he has worked as a Technical Cementing Engineer in Schlumberger Logelco, Egypt (2012-2020).
Research Interests
Islam ElGhamrawy is interested in reducing the carbon footprint by generating biofuel and chemicals from renewable resources specifically biomass (agricultural wastes, wood waste ...etc) via thermochemical processes.
