“Hydrodynamics of Fluid Coker”

Supervisors: Dr. Cedric Briens & Dr. Franco Berruti.

 Objective:

Study Fluid-Coke Agglomerates from Fluid CokersTM, using a Lab-Scale Cold Flow Recirculating Fluidized Bed that is equipped with a Radioactive Particle Tracking (RPT) system.

 

Importance:

  • Use RPT, to evaluate the degree of fouling of baffles.
  • Study agglomerates behaviour depending on their densities and sizes.
  • Study sheds configuration and their impact in agglomerates behaviour.
  • Develop software to enhance RPT systems.
